วันนี้ 19 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2568 สื่อของทางกัมพูชาเปิดเผย ว่า ชาวกัมพูชาประมาณ 300,000 คน ได้ออกมาเดินขบวนบนท้องถนนรวมตัวกันกลางกรุงพนมเปญ ประเทศกัมพูชา ซึ่งจัดโดยสหพันธ์เยาวชนแห่งกัมพูชา (UYFC) เน้นย้ำถึงความมุ่งมั่นของประเทศในการแก้ไขความขัดแย้งชายแดนอย่างสันติท่ามกลางความตึงเครียดที่เพิ่มสูงขึ้นของไทย-กัมพูชา

โดยมี นายฮุน มานี ประธาน UYFC เป็นบุตรชายของ ฮุน เซน อดีตนายกรัฐมนตรี และเป็นน้องชายของนายกรัฐมนตรีคนปัจจุบันคือ ฮุน มาเนต เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมรวมตัวกันที่ตลาดกลางคืนพนมเปญก่อนเดินไปยังสวนอนุสาวรีย์อิสรภาพ ตลอดเส้นทางเต็มไปด้วยธงชาติโบกสะบัดและผู้เข้าร่วมในชุดสีสันสดใส

“In a show of unity against Thai military aggression, more than 300,000 Cambodians took to the streets of Phnom Penh yesterday in a “March for Peace” organised by the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC). The event underscored the country’s commitment to resolving the border conflict peacefully amid escalating tensions.

Led by UYFC President Hun Many, participants gathered at the Phnom Penh Night Market before walking to the Independence Monument Park. The route was alive with the fluttering of many national flags and participants in colourful attires.

The crowd included monks, elders, government officials, students, businesspeople, artists, athletes, and people with disabilities. Many carried placards advocating peace, while children waved miniature Cambodian flags, adding a sense of hope and continuity to the demonstration. Street vendors and onlookers cheered as the procession passed, creating an atmosphere of celebration intertwined with solemn purpose.

UYFC Department of Information and Public Relations Director Som Ratana said the march aimed to express the peace-loving unity of the Cambodian people and encourage respect for the ceasefire and peace agreements between Cambodia and Thailand.

“We call for participation from the public, but this event does not focus on whether the number of participants is large or small. What truly matters is sending a voice to the world that reflects Cambodia’s love for peace and its aspiration for lasting stability,” he said.

“The march reflects Cambodia’s longstanding position of resolving disputes through peaceful means and mutual respect,” the UYFC said in a statement, noting that the event also seeks to highlight the role of youth in promoting diplomacy, dialogue, and reconciliation.

The demonstration followed a June march in which over 150,000 Cambodians expressed support for the government’s law-based, peaceful approach to resolving border tensions. Yesterday’s gathering, however, surpassed previous events in scale, reinforcing both national solidarity and international attention on Cambodia’s commitment to peace.

Cambodia shares more than 800 kilometres of land border with Thailand, extending from Preah Vihear province in the north to Koh Kong province in the southwest. The boundary has long been a source of disputes between the two countries.

On December 7, the Thai military repeatedly attacked Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Battambang and Pursat provinces, using heavy weapons, F-16 fighter jets and toxic gas, breaching the October 26 peace agreement.”
